The Isle of Purbeck has a deep vein of artistic riches and our exhibition at Durlston Castle is designed to showcase a cross section of this talent.
Durlston Castle is an extraordinary Victorian building, which with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and many others, took 8 years to transform, to provide a unique and beautiful facility for visitors to Durlston and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The Fine Foundation Gallery was established during the extensive refurbishment of 2011 and now offers a first class exhibition space which encompasses spectacular sea views. Established artists alongside emerging talent will ensure a tantalising range of work both in terms of content and medium.
From a small but perfectly formed artwork to a large statement piece, there will be something for everyone. It could be a glimpse through some trees, an abstracted Thai landscape, a fleeting view of the sea or the splash of a wave captured in porcelain.
Durlston Castle is the centre for Durlston Country Park and includes a café, shop, and permanent displays with the additional benefit of abundant parking.
