MAY 28 – JUNE 12.

Our artists are at work in their studios – and Purbeck Young Artist’s school workshops and our Community Art projects are about to start. Every year the Festival selects a theme from ideas put forward by its members – the chosen theme for 2016 is ‘Midsummer Dreams’.  How delightful to be thinking now about summer light, a relaxing figure, Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary, moonlit landscapes, dreams of the future, or anything else that the theme conjures up.

You can start planning now for a great summer: wandering around artist’s studios, talking to artists about their work and what inspires them, enjoying what you see, perhaps buying what you love, winning the PAW competition for a work of art of your choice, having fun with ‘arty selfies’ and visiting Rollington Barn for refreshments and more art.  Many local Galleries are also involved.

PAW is a full Arts Festival offering a mouth-watering programme of music and events to complement the visual arts (for more see under Events). This year’s  exciting and imaginative programme is indeed the stuff that dreams are made of – with an internationally and locally acclaimed line up of musicians, writers and historians, here in Purbeck.

We also like to involve Purbeck Young Artists in our community works of art, so look forward to shoals of ceramic fish appearing somewhere in Swanage!

Free brochures will be available from April – in the meantime we hope you enjoy exploring our website. .
